Aeon: The IMPA is set up to do research and try to help webmasters forcast issues of which Acacia is only one problem on our horizon.
The IMPA funds can go to help research but the IMPA cannot pay for many of the fees resulting from fighting Acacia. That money is coming out of the pockets of the many companies that are going to court with Acacia.
Jeff Miller, our CFO, will be happy to talk about where the money comes from and what it is being spent on. I can tell you right now that none of it is going to pay us fat salaries or give us expense accounts. All of our time and energy is donated freely.
Every dime has gone or is going into solid research. What IMPA members or non members choose to do with the information is their perogative. We cannot tell people what to do or how to run their business.
I would say our efforts have been extremely proactive and we are frugal. We have had press in print and electronic media, from Wired and Forbes to Tech TV and more. We have been very happy with the response and mind you we don't have cash to spend on a huge pr firm or anything.
Our efforts at creating industry awareness continue and we will seek to show our worth to the community with an ongoing and earnest effort.
We have been on this for longer than anyone else. We responded professionally to Acacia from day one. The IMPA has helped research the issues quite thouroughly. If you look at the
IMPA then you will find plenty of information about these issues and you can see what has happened thus far in the acacia matter.
I do understand what you are saying about a bunch of webmasters getting together, but I suggest you watch and see what we are doing. I feel our actions will prove our merit beyond the shadow of a doubt.
You are always welcome to call if you need more information.

Thanks for sharing those concerns and criticisms. We have to address questions like those if we truly want to benefit the community.
