Ah yes, how we men panic when the hair starts to fall...
I'm lucky I'm in pretty good shape, but my hair sure ain't what it was when I was 25. Used to be a thick wavy head of hair just like my father.... And here's my 2 cents on the issue:
I've never seen a guy with transplants where it wasn't obvious they were transplants. I'm sure there are really good ones, but I imagine that the reason your hair falls out to begin with is the reason that transplants would eventually fall out. The dreaded DHT...
As we men get older, testosterone begins to break down into Di-Hydro Testosterone. They believe that this chemical is responsible for enlarged prostate and hair loss. When they came out with the drug Proscar to treath benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH - enlarged prostate) they found that the men taking the drug were growing new hair. Sensing a goldmine, the folks who make Proscar began testing to find the dose that grows hair...
And Propecia was born!
Possible side effects of Propecia:
1. Watery Semen
2. Impotence
3. Lack of interest in sex
4. Tremendous headaches
A pregnant woman should NEVER even touch a broken tablet of propecia because it could effect the sex organs of an unborn male child.
Now, I'd love to have the same hair as I did when I was 25, HOWEVER, I don't really like those possible side effects, no matter how small the occurrance. If I lost a bunch of hair I'd just buzz it like Captain Picard.
Let's do the math... men want hair because of women. Take propecia, grow some hair, and all the chicks will dig me, we think to ourselves. So you've got your hair and all the hot babes want to take you to bed. Unfortunately, you're impotent now from the Propecia, so you've got to run out and get some Viagra! Not for me thanks...
Wow, it must be Friday. Here Brad asks a question about hair transplants and I write a dissertation about the possible side effects of propecia. haha Take it for what it's worth...
