We've been using chicken necks for 30 years to get crabs. Started at Amelia Island when we had a place there when I was in HS - would just tie a string around it, put in the water in the marsh, wait a few minutes, and use a net to scoop up dinner.
At the Outer Banks, if you ask the head of the meat dept - they have packages of nothing but chicken necks in the back for ya.
