JR, I hear you! Kenai would be a very strange place to grow up in. Anchorage is a small city in some respects but at least you can go to more than one movie theater and go to a decent restaurant. KC and I decided we couldnt deal with another night in the motorhome so we stayed at the Kenai Merit Inn, possibly the shittiest hotel Ive ever stayed in!
I've never been hunting and I don't think I could do it. Its not logical but for some reason killing fish and killing moose are two very different things to me. I just came back to AK for the summer after living in the Bay Area and its interesting to compare the two. I LOVE being able to drive across town in ten minutes! I miss a lot of shopping, restaurants, concerts etc.
This is very cheesy but every time I fly home to AK from Seattle and I leave on a night flight, Im very moved when I start to see the mountain ranges and the sky getting lighter even at midnight!
