Interestingly enough, this year at Barrett Jackson, American muscle cars pulled way more money relative to their projected block prices than Euro exotics did.
The star of the show didn't even make reserve, hell it didn't even make a million bid at the auction, though it was sold later for a million one. It was one of 16 ever built, 57 Jag xk-ss roadsters, and the first one in 10 years to hit the market...
The muscles did much better, this wasn't the final bid on the Nash Bridges car, I think it ended up at about 140k but it was neat to watch it on the block. A 70 Superboss Lawman, the only surviving one of two made, stole the show when they fired up the 1200 hp engine during a Pininfarina sale...

Eleanor was also for sale, for those of you who know Gone in 60 Seconds... and Carroll Shelby also celebrated his birthday at the show --

I'm just glad to see the trend in new performance cars turning back toward more cylinders and horsepower instead of 4 bangers and turbos.
The kids today love the rice. But I'm sorry, a high strung turbo with a coffee can exhaust, ridiculous rear wing and butt ugly graphics that sounds like a chili fart when it passes by doesn't do it for me.
I like a V8 (or better) rumble and that good low end torque that really throws you back in the seat as soon as you step on the gas.
