i didn't have a clear answer but they were all soap opera/jerry springer theories about the sister getting together with the guy
i don't think that the answer of killing her sister in the hope the guy will turn up to the funeral is logical ...

what if the dude was a gardener at the funeral home, or actually there for a funeral next door, or the chauffeur for one of the guests ... there's nothing that confirms he was an associate of the family in ANY way - just that he was 'at' the funeral, which can mean anything.
