In my version of this complete-the-story tale the girl killed her sister because the mystery man at the funeral was really her father whom she had never met before. So unbeknownst to her she hooked up with her own father at the funeral (added that detail) which explains her quick feelings for him and her quick belief that he was the man of her dreams (thought a bit old). Later, when she found her sister knew the man was really her father and hadn't told her she killed her sister and maybe herself shortly thereafter.
Few holes but what I thought of first.
