Again I don't know if this is an actual test or an internet hoax
I do think it does show how we reason and they are all logical and possible answers
My pop psychology view would be along the lines of those coming up with the man was her sister are fairly well grounded and balanced and think along the lines of mystery novels - Agatha Christie and the like
My answer of the man was her sister's husband shows I am a little unbalanced or different and think along the lines of sick movies and lit such as Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killer
sarettah's answer just reminds me to be nice to him (he he he) and not to sit next to him at the dinner table when sharp implements are handy
oh yeah and sarettah's very logicial thinking, yeah that's it
Am sure there are much better technical answers for this than what I am coming up with
