being or not being a conformist implys that you posses at a minimum, the necessary intelligence to understand and comprehend people, behaviors and events around you... or that you have at least some primative ability for cognative reason and are cabable of deciding for yourself if following the behavior of others is a good or bad behavior. It also means that you would have to be able to recognize your own limitations - and when it may or may not be beneficial for you to just run with the pack to decrease the danger you represent to yourself.
