I think it's quite sane to question the Patriot Act and whether it is a good law or not. It's quite another to think that the end of our society is here, that the Constitution is now a worthless document, that the Republicans are secretly taking over, that America is now on an unstoppable road to ruin, that the system of government we are living under is thus null and void and that we're heading towards an Orwellian finish and and are just a little behind schedule on 1984.

if your favored party is so evil that it's got a large % of the public believing this is true, why are you still voting for them? Why do you still defend them? Are you just committed to them no matter how evil they get, no matter what they do? At what point do you say to yourself 'I was wrong, these fuckers are just no good'? Does that point even exist with you?
