so... we need the alarmists to hold off the power grabbing Republicans in order to keep them from turning our country into a police state, but actually the alarmists are wrong and crazy and we don't need them because the Republicans aren't really power-mad?
No, Al Sharpton isn't nearly as bad as Falwell. Sharpton is an attention whore who seeks power and can't get it, who primarily seeks to redress issues of injustice towards colored folk. Falwell is a religious freak who sets the tune that Republicans dance to, and his agenda is to outlaw blowjobs, Huckleberry Finn and Evolution.
