I much rather chop up Forests face and use it for a place mat.
As for where I think the industry will be in 6 months....
Healthy.
Companies will continue to tighten their belts and become more structured and more calculating and economical with their spending.
Those doing well now will do well 6 months from now. More and more webmasters are quick to throw the towel in, most new webmasters now are under the age of 21 and view this as pure smoke/party money or a means to help dress their car out.
I think AVS's will be caught in the crossfires and come under scrutiny as more and more now see credit cards are not such a great form of age verification.
I think the area of webmaster resource sites is the most competitive and the market cannot sustain all over them with the influx of 200+ message boards.
We are already seeing the "pay per post" or prize incentice posting models being minimized and phased out by the likes of pornojunkies and Xbiz.
As I have credited Oprano many times in the last 2 months in the buzz column, thank god you all did not get on that band wagon, your board is the most intellectual board debate board around. There is not even a close second to your flavor. Major props to you all.
Europe is already cleaning up their dialers, so to answer your question, the next 6 months is going to be a continuance of companies rightsizing, planning expenditures, monitoring growth, adjusting etc...
Bottom line, lucrative business for those that are established, and a tough life for those trying to do the same coming in as brand new.
