You can definitely make money with that .org - I don't care for anything but .com's but I've had plenty of people kick my butt in search engine listings with the .org version of my .com for the same keyword(s). So barring any potential ICANN problems down the road, you've got a name... USE it.
First thing I'd do is put SOMETHING up there. I've never had a name with dns that didn't have at least an empty page with a sponsor link of some kind.
Pack the thing with free xxx ezine stuff and normal sponsor links, paysites are just a magazine with an extra dimension or two..
Time, money, effort and willingess to learn and change are essentially all you need and you appear to have those things.
