Belguim colonized the Congo. They were kicked out in a brutal civil war in the early 1960s.

I heard it mentioned on the BBC. I heard it mentioned on Australian BC. Both of those countries are at war with us in Iraq.

I did happen to notice that it flashed across the bottom of the screen on cnn/msnbc, and that other one announced the death toll in a mention that lasted no more than 20 seconds. Even NPR gave it scant coverage.

In much of Africa the only nation that seems to give much of rat's ass as to what goes on is not mentionable on this board without the moron brigade breaking out in a frenzy of "most hated nations du jour" bashing and [probably false] claims of wine dumping.
