I've made it clear that I do not support the WAY we went about getting into this military action, even though I'm not arguing the fact that ousting Hussein is indeed long overdue. It's probably a more difficult position than those who are more firmly on one side or the other.

While I support the right of Americans to peaceful forms of protest, I've gotta say that my support does NOT include blocking the entrance to buildings or military bases, or in any way, shape or form disrupting people as they go about their business -- even if that business includes doing something that is directly related to the war that's being protested.

Stand there with your signs and chant, rant or whatever... that's your right. But if your form of protest involves impeding civil servants (like at State buildings, etc.) or the military, you shouldn't be surprised to be dragged off and arrested.

I no more support protesters blocking the entrance of a military base during this war than I do those who block the entrances to abortion clinics. Peaceful protest is one thing, impeding the ability of people to do their JOBS is something altogether different. There's a big difference between making your grievances known and making it impossible for people to do what they get paid to do.

Crossing the line between peaceful protest and interference with the duty of others doesn't do a damned thing to garner any sympathy for the position of the protesters, and in fact probably just pisses people off so much that they close their ears, minds and hearts to the point they're trying to make in the first place.

There are obviously plenty of morons to go around on BOTH sides of the issue, and they each do their supporters a world of harm by resorting to extremes.
