They may indeed respect and honor the 'Commander and Chief'... In the military you are taught that you salute/respect the rank, if not the man (woman)... Showing support for the position of C&C greatly differs from a blanket statement that they respect Bush.
Kinda hard to count disenfranchised voters no matter who is doing the recounting, independent or no; and no doubt both sides were shaving like it was... well... adult in 2000...
History is meant to be looked back and drawn on (not dwelled upon and certainly not swept under the rug and pretend it didn't occur). History is also in the eye of the beholder and damn near always written by the 'winner'.... That doesn't make their version any more true than someone else's who was on the receiving end of the beatdown or even looking on from the sidelines...
Every single one of us carries the burden of a unique perspective skewed by our ideological coke bottle glasses; the only true commonality is everyone's vision is just as fucked up as the next persons...
