Dianna, I tend to set up a special incoming mail account just for programs... every so often, it gets set to autodelete, and I start with a new one.
There are also some sites that I sign up to with a very specific email address, that only they get, and I wait to see who they sell it to. Sometimes it is really fun to watch all the action, as people think they get a NEW webmaster address... and they spew stuff at me like constipated monkeys... only to get no response because it got filtered.
Email marketting is so over used now, that I suspect more and more surfers are tuning it out. Hooper's 17 emails at a shot is just a perfect example of overflow... plus if people even have half a brain, they will do a cause and effect thing on this, and NEVER enter the email into anything else ever.
Your sponsor's message isn't that important if they are willing to lower your relationship by selling your email address. By doing that, they accepted that you wouldn't pay as much attention to them as they originally hoped.
