i see this as an interesting trend on threaded boards.
ask a question no matter how stupid it is that engages the board into answering it. It s a nice cheap way of promoting your program. Board whores will always read the first post and mostly likely read the sig part as well.
You can also increase the exposure by asking the same Q on 10 different boards at once
