I like to eat sushi by myself. I like to go to the movies by myself. I like to sit in bars and coffee shops by myself.
The more you do it...the more you want to do things alone.
So, I highly suggest giving it a try. Even if you are the social type.

See, now if I saw you in all these place by yourself, I'd ask you if you wanted to join us
I like to do things by myself - outdoor stuff, like hiking, going to the lake (my little one and the big ones) the beach, big mountains, etc. and I HATE shopping with anyone else - I MUST do it alone. I love "playing" tennis with a ball machine (no jokes, please) and hopefully after some beginning lessons from my presently unemployed brother, I'm planning on teaching myself how to play golf this spring.
But eating and movies I have to do with others - who do you "discuss" the movie with afterwards? That's 1/2 the fun

And whenever I was forced to eat alone, I always had to take a book to read - I can't just sit there and eat - I have to be doing something else...maybe I'm spastic, not social
