Voodooman you seem to forget that we all arrive here once because immigrants (at least part of my so-called amercian blood- the rest indian)
It was founded on freedom and now everyone wants to come here and since when do we sudden decide you can and who can't?

the government has always decided who can come and who cant. thats what the immigration process is EXACTLY. its a process to decide who can come and who cant.
do a cursury review of the many immigrant and non-immigrant visas available today for the US and their requirements and you will see that no one, particularly the US Goverment is interested in importing people from 3rd world countries who are using forged documents and often hiding a criminal past while intending to do nothing more than defraud the system.
US Visa officers at all US Consulates and Embassies worldwide can refuse a visa to anyone for any reason. they have no set guidelines and are not required to explain of why an application was refused. I was at the American Embassy in London the other day and it is no different than any other US embassy in the world... there was a line around the block, on the street of people with "appointments" waiting for their interview... and this is from one of the closet US allies.
its really great and wonderful to talk about the "wonderful contributions of immigrants" but its a little unfair to leave out narcotics smuggling, prostitution, human slaves, ripping off welfare and social security, international crime figures, weapons smugglers, terrorists, people who hate the US, people with long criminal pasts in their country of origin etc etc etc.... or people who "innocently" apply for a student visa so they can train to fly commercial jet liners into the World Trade Center and kill 3000 people.
the immigration process is a process that may not be "fair" in the utopianistic views of some, but its a process none the less that IS THE LAW. going around the law does not make it ok because "we all come from immigrants".
