The Nat Net suite was the number one place to network. It was fabulous, and although we understand why Tony had to stop it, it is sorely missed. Personally, I don't care too much about booths. This year I went to all 3 days of the show just trying to find people, but I think that more business gets done in an athmosphere like Nat Net had at the two shows in NO than in any other setting.
Maybe a group of sponsors could get together with Nat Net and bring it back. I know there's a liability problem, but others are giving parties, so maybe sharing the liability is the answer. The fact that we knew where we could find just about anyone was a huge bonus. "See you at the Nat Net Suite" was the catch phrase of those shows. Eventually everyone went through there at least once, even the bigger players that generally only showed at their own parties.
What I noticed in Vegas was that there were so many parties that people splintered off into smaller groups to choose which ones they would go to, thereby cutting off the majority of the people from each other.
Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but I think that bringing back that type of single meeting place would rock.
