They don't have to prove it with a DNA test. They could start with a white paper describing their methodology, results, success, etc. How did they do it without failures? Usually the paper comes first and the announcement second.

i think there was a white paper.
it was written with a crayon on a napkin from the International House of Pancakes across the street from the Holiday Inn where they made their announcement.
