In all fairness, I use the internet almost exclusively these days for information, shopping, work

, etc.
I read the Atlanta paper and the small local paper online. I read Boortz since I can't get his radio show, when I have a question regarding laws, medical information, and such, I go to the internet.
Like the past few years, I'll do almost all my Christmas shopping online. I buy things throughout the year also. I haven't been inside a mall in years! I needed a new copy of Quicken recently (1999 didn't like XP

) and in 10 minutes, I had a new copy. Without even having to brush my hair! I do hours of research on cars before I buy them, including seeing dealer inventory and getting online quotes - saves a ton of time at the dealership! And I find out information about my migraines before my doctor does.
My kid has done every college registration online, as well as taken summer courses over the internet. His HS had grades and teacher comments online. Right now I'm taking a RE class over the internet.
Not to mention I'd be working in some crappy office wearing a dress suit and wearing panty hose instead of sitting here in a T-shirt and sweatpants if there were no internet
Do I have to put up with some crappy pop up ads and spam in order to get all this? Sure! But IMHO, for me, it's MORE than worth it - something's gotta pay for all the free crap I get, hehehe.
