Philly fans got the reputation of being tough ... but NOT in that way. We will boo our own team if they are top-ranked and acting like fuckups during a game. Steve Carlton learned this. We support our teams even in the years when they suck. But when Steve for instance had a few bad games, Philly fans would boo him. Why? Cause we KNEW he could do better. In THAT way, Philly fans are tough. Tough and loyal.
Now if you want to talk just plain MEAN ... let's look at the New Yorker fans who toss bottles on the heads of managers. Or those great Ohio college boys who put their towns on fire.
