I have a good friend whose company provides free taxis for the entire Christmas season. They all get a phone number they can call at any time and the company picks up the tab
When my kid was in ROTC, they gave them a phone number to call if they ever needed a ride home.
And there's a Christmas party I go to every year that's held at a hotel with everyone getting rooms - makes it a LOT more fun and less worry - especially for those of us that live 1.5 hours away!
These days I'd be a nervous wreck (no pun intended) sending someone home after too many drinks - who cares about liability - I worry about my friends.
