Watch their alexa ratings for next month, wont impact them at all I bet.

Once upon a time when the boards were dominated by people who were here to make money and do business as opposed to the beer money crowd, a move like that would've found a board all but left for dead.

If there were justice, people would pack up and leave, sponsors would cancel their ads, etc. And I'm not saying they should all come here, but go anywhere other than GFY.

As is, Playboy just basically spat in all of their faces, and they're all so addicted to sitting around over there and refreshing that board every 10 minutes that they cant envision leaving. Pop a xanax, smoke a joint, and life goes on....

I get more disgusted every day.

As long as other programs keep sending these thieves cross sales and making deals to let them run their vids on the tubes with affiliate links, it makes zero difference what the rest of us do.

When it finally comes crashing down for all of us those programs will be standing there asking themselves, "what the fuck happened?"

It's a surfer's board.
I might go there to advertise (for free of course,) and get a sig notice, but never as a serious conversation.

The only boards I ever used regularly were Amateurmasters, and right here, Oprano.

Yea......way back a few years, like, 6 or 7, he promised me donuts at a little midnight get together at Krsipy Kremes Excalibur Hotel. Just a few friends and webmasters, you know?

So, I get there, and that bastard is on his way out, damn fur coat, a chic on each arm, and all the donut boxes empty. Not a Kreme left for poor 'ole EJ. (Or any donuts.)

Ive seen people trying to get back in the biz there looking to be thrown a bone and the battle lines being drawn.

Raffi from World Wide Content being in those threads I think is the most amusing thing I saw. Its obvious he was able to cut a few licensing deals.
Of course history tell us that hes not beyond trying to take a site he doesnt own and selling it off to Platinum Bucks.

Actually Steve Lightspeed got booted for the same reason most of us do, actually linking to another webmaster board. It brings the hypocrisy into a fine light, it is acceptable to take money from a company that had made it's bones "borrowing" content from everyone else, but it is somehow wrong to admit there are other webmaster boards?

Someone in a better position than I needs to get AVN and Xbiz to run "Playboy supports content theft" pieces, get the word out there. Perhaps even the mainstream media might pick up on it (bad for playboy stock?)

Last I heard morons are using those threads to try and generate business for secured streaming which consists of posting the user IP as a layer into the video.

Now aint that a massive deterrent?

FACT: if you can view it, you can capture it.

you can make it harder for the masses to grab it. but no matter how difficult you make it, there's some jack ass out there who will grab it and convert it right back to an open format and post it on torrents, newsgroups, fileshare sites, boards, etc.

i believe for the future, smart money finds where the balance is. you want it easily viewed by the paying customer. but you also want it watermarked and find that line between easily viewed by a noob, but enough of a challenge to capture to deter the casual thief.

the determined thief is going to steal your stuff no matter what. likewise there's a very large segment of people out there who absolutely will not pay for content, you'll never force 'em to do so. dont cost yourself paying customers trying to do so.

Shes developed quite a nose for food.

I remember the first night she was in Charlotte and said that the nicest place shed ever been taken to was the Cheesecake Factory. So I took her to Maggianos next door.

There appears to be any number voting with their feet, including some major posters. It is clear that it is driving a line down the middle, where people are taking sides. The one that surprises me the most is Shap, who in the last couple of years has gone from protective content producer to man with a copyright on "porn tube" or whatever who is willing to sue and support his fellow tube owners. So Gonzo, you can add twistys cash shap cash and all to your list of active supporters of illegal tubes.

I have read that board a few times but even though people say it's good for traffic, I just don't like it there, never posted there. Seems like too much drama, sexism, and generally annoying-ness for me, if I want to put up with that I'll log back into my cam sites and make some money while I'm at it. You know I shun the boards anyway ;)
