I post when I am at work and am very rarely on the boards otherwise but think what you will like. I don't have to defend 12clicks that is his job and he has told me that from day 1. You can believe it or not, I really don't give a shit but I did find the video hysterical and have watched it several times. Abulletaway is a very witty and clever guy and I have always enjoyed conversations with him.

Its the state of the business. Its easy to be a piss artist and a dick swinger when easy money is filling buckets and morons get rich. But when it takes depth and talent to earn a decent living, the strong survive and the dick swingers just get mad. Not a good solution to an economic problem or in some cases, disaster.

But its still time to clean up this business. Making scammers and those who promote them welcome just makes it easier for them to continue. That costs you and I money because the customers...remember them??? lose confidence in our business because they get burned. That is when they move on to free tubes etc. We need to restore consumer confidence after a decade of trying to beat them up. Our product is a bit outside the norm, but our business practices should not be.

I really have no idea of what is going on with this 12clicks guy, or what his business practices are. I don't know him or his company as I just don't hang out at the zoo. I had a look at his affiliate program and I just saw very generic sites with the same content that everyone else seems to be using.

But, if he is involved in cross-sales and that whole scam, I would never do business with him and would shun him, his company, and his employees. I've worked quite hard these past 15 years building up a fairly reputable company that has always cared about its customers. I absolutely HATE anyone who feels they can make a quick or easy buck by purposely scamming customers as those may be my customers also. When you take advantage, no matter what justification you use, you are also hurting me and mine! The bottom line is when you screw with people who may also be my customers, you also screw with me and my livelihood. There really is no excuse, no justification, and no reason to do so if you understood business and customer relations.

So, if 12clicks isn't scamming people, there there is no reason to also attack 12ClicksMichele. But, if he is using all that scammer crap, then his employees are as guilty as he is.

I really wish people would grow some balls and make a stand against all the sleazy scammers we have in our industry. I always see people paying lip service to it, but that's it. The problem is if we don't fight it, and fight those that employee such tactics, we are really no better than them. We always check any affiliates we are going to use, and only use those that aren't using scummy tactics to screw their customers.

I agree with everything you say but we work in the short sighted industry. You got a very large percentage of hosts in bed with pirates and if it wasnt for porn most of them would be working at Starbucks . You got major processors supporting cross sales and now check people also.You got fucking AVN giving a lifetime achievement award to the founder of a company that basically funds piracy thru ad buys and affiliate deals. Alot of people made alot of money inspite of themselves and now that time is coming to a close. Its going to get worse and worse sadly. Do you see the music industry buying ads space on sites that trade their shit? This industry is its own worst enemy.

For years Ive been building of a fan club of unethical thugs that are parked in this business scheming a dollar. Ive been accused of being fat,broke and a home wrecker. Its funny that no one has ever chased me for a dollar or any worked owed.

Like Danny Ive been around working hard quite some time.

In spite of people hanging out with thugs at the Zoo Ive managed to get the message out though.

It never has been a matter of popularity, post count or being cool for me.

In the end I'll choose those "6" posters on here to do business with while some of you mail yourself $100 bills in an effort to scam people with a pitiful chain letter website.

Next time though... check for the details. When you mail yourself all $100 bills and announce todays date and show the overnight date stamp on the 'Bags of money floating up to your door" - make sure that the dates arent a month apart.

The more it costs to play the more idiots you eliminate.

However, there are a lot of people here now who have made enough money and contacts that nothing short of a full fledged enema will ever remove them.

Unfortunately, we've all decided to set up shop in a bad neighborhood. So all you can do is protect yourself and keep your eyes open. Adult is the ghetto of the internet. No one cares much of what happens here. They figure if you come here, you know you're taking your chances.

yeah, i still miss that along with weekly 5 figure checks from Xpics. i was young and dumb then myself, they were the ones that taught me how much money can be made from scamming surfers and how long term it taints your traffic.

but i did enjoy the checks.

but alas, they are long long gone, and i still get checks from recurring member bases created back then. treat 'em as customers and with respect, and they KEEP ON giving you money.

there's an ethics question hiding in there someplace....

if you could go back in time, knowing what you know now, would you go down the path of "free joins" with the back end credit card slams and all that traffic, put millions in the bank and bail when things got hot? or do you stay on the straight and narrow?

But I didn't. So, I have to deal with the current situation. Those scams have run dry as they were destined to. Those who are still around have to deal with the wreckage. It will eventually settle down, but a lot of customers have been burned along the way and lost confidence.
Those scams and those who run them were fundamentally dressed up drug dealers, a business I (heard) an awful lot about long time ago, and far far away in the days when "icing the puck" was hugely profitable. It was just as easy to make money selling drugs and even that became harder (or so I heard) as the novelty wore off.
But those who made the money and then fucked off were not necessarily very sage or stupid. Just lucky.
So when I hear these "old school" guys preaching like internet Gods, I kinda laugh. Its easy to clip and paste wise Samuel Johnson quotes, but financial opinions or worldly outlooks from these guys is like listening to drug dealers preach economics around a bottle of the latest expensive wine they read about, more to the point, really expensive mediocre Vodka like Grey Goose.
So, I guess my point is, that perhaps the time has come to stop welcoming them and the boardwhores who represent them and at least cut down on some of the damage they are still doing. On a practical level, that shit costs us money, so any little thing we can do to slow its progress is money in our pockets down the road.
