In every one of my "webmaster" accounts today:

- A clear copy of your passport or Photographic Drivers Licence or I.D card (both sides).
- A clear copy of both sides of the credir/debit carrd on your PayPal profile.
- A clear copy of a recent bank statement or utility bill on which your name and adress are clearly visible

Completing all of checklist items will automatically restore your account access

Well, when you consider you only need a very, very few responses to make it worth while, it works. 99.999% of people ignore it, but that 0.001% that do respond are worth it, I guess.

The lottery scams apparently still work as well.

Yeah, I laugh everytime I hear about someone being taken by the lottery ones, because it's been covered so much in the news I can't believe everyone hasn't heard about them. I still get those occasionally too. :hmm:

Keep in mind that people are still sending money to Nigera every day.

The Paypal one is similar to the ones for all the banks. I see them and I know that someone is logging in on a fake bank website right there and then, and that their bank accounts will be cleaned out shortly.

I always get a laugh out of those phony bank e-mails - I have one checking account, and it's at a small local bank that does NOT have online access. So if Wells Fargo/Wachovia/Chase has "suspended" my online access, great! :D

All of the rest of us probably get those in our email every day too.
Why do we have to get them on Oprano and all of the other boards all the time too?
Is there some reason for posting copies of the same old spam, or are people just
INCREDIBLY bored?

Not at all, just figured I would mention it because I usually get asked. I had someone try to bust my balls on another board asking what will happen when me and Eric break up. I had already posted that it was my kids names so he looked like a jackass. LOL
