Any ebay sellers here?

I got this today, first time in at least 500 sales on ebay

Funny thing is, I have NO idea what they are talking about, the only thing it could be, was I used a stock photo of the item, but if you look on ebay everyone is using the same photo, LOL...fucking bastards, it had 15 hours left and was up to $1450 already.

oh well, I removed the photo and listed it again

Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

You recently listed the following auction-style listing:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

The rights owner, Numark Industries, LLC, notified eBay that this listing violates intellectual property rights. When eBay receives a report of this type of violation, we remove the listing to comply with the law.

I'm mostly a buyer these days, but I've been a seller on eBay since 1999.

Numark Industries, LLC appears to be registered with eBay as a verified rights owner (VeRO). Once registered as a VeRO all they have to do is report a listing and eBay removes it without further investigation.

Why they reported your listing and not others is anyones guess.

Never use copyright images. Never. That should be very apparent to someone in this business. It matters not how many others are breaking the law, we should know better. This is an embarrassing thread on a professional forum.

Certainly best to take a photo of the item yourself but I see lots of listings on eBay using company produced product photos.

Between the whiney asses on EBay and the Vero issues its taken a lot of fun out of selling off stuff. I had some old software that I couldnt get rid of over there years ago becasue of Vero.

If the company doesn't mind, like Canon or Sony for instance, go ahead. They get ad pics everywhere. But prudence should prevail on anything you did not create. Its someone else's time, talent, and money went into producing it. I know I look at free porn (hush my mouth) but I don't steal it and use it for commercial purposes and get annoyed when others do.
