i can see where a family member that is not in the industry can be off limits, but to say a model in the industry is ugly (which is my opinion) isn't that big of a deal

one thing I have always noticed about forums is that if you say "in my opinion" or do a "hahahaha" at the beginning of the sentence, and then end it with a :yowsa::yowsa::yowsa:, then everyone finds it to be an ok statement, but if you just say whatever negative is on your mind than all the sudden it is "fucked up"

for instance

compared to

see the difference? and suprisingly, if you pay attention, the first evokes a much better response :)

I think most people's wives are ugly compared to my wife or a woman like Angelina Jolie, but I'd never tell them that to their face or post it on a message board. Especially when the woman doesn't even post. I don't care if she's in the business or not, I'm sure both of the ladies being discussed in this thread are very nice and don't deserve to be made fun of as a way of attacking their husbands.

Notice I used the word "most" which puts me in the clear. The good thing about using the word "most" is that it leaves wiggle room and obviously by using the word "most" I've indicated that I don't find "all" women less attractive than my wife just "most" of them.

However, whether I find your wife attractive or not, I would never tell you to your face or post it on a message board. Now, on the other hand, if you ask me for my opinion, I've never been one to hold back when it comes to giving my opinions.

As the one who started all this, I for one do care.

Some of you are talking about certain spouses being in the Adult Entertainment field so are therefore an open target of your abuse. I can see saying "I don't find your wife attractive" if someone posted a picture of their wife and asked what everyone thought. They are asking for an opinion. But when that wife isn't involved, and the only reason to post a picture and bring them into something is to try and belittle their partner, that is just wrong, plain and simple. It is truly a shameful act.

RCourt is talking about Moral Standards, well this doesn't have to do with moral standards, just common sense and a semblance of integrity.

No one here has ever seen me attack anyone's family members in any way, and on any board. If I am in an argument (or heated discussion) with someone, my beef is with them, not their family. I just don't understand how anyone can lower themselves to such an extent, and then trying to justify it with bullshit. It just has me shaking my head.

What I always find funny is that the people who talk shit behind the safety of their keyboard are the ones who will never say the same things to someone's face. I've always worked the opposite. I've kept my mouth shut, in public, about things, but love to bring it up to whoever it was when I run into them at a show. I guess I am from a different generation where we didn't say things unless we truly meant it, and were willing to back it up.


I also use these boards for business, as many do, and base who I may work with on how they conduct themselves. An example is GFY. Although I never bother posting there (just not cool enough), I will scan topics when I am looking for a designer or any other type of work. If I see someone talking shit to others, they will never get my business. Why? Because if they are willing to act like an asshole publicly, there is a good chance they will screw me in business.
