Creating original blog content

From what I understand, Google doesn't rank duplicate content very highly. According to This Google Answers page, here is what they suggest to get a higher rank:

Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

I'm trying to make money using RSS feeds, and although I realize that duplicate content is not very lucrative, I assume there must be tools out there to modify the content so I'll get a higher rank. For example, a thesaurus program that would change the content around, preferably without any upkeep from the webmaster.

Does anyone know of any tools (preferably for Wordpress) that can modify the content enough to be seen as "original"?

Ive been working with galleryscraper. It might be what your looking for but Im still in the middle of configuring it.

every plugin I have seen like this is custom written

there is someone offering something similar to this though, but for affiliate programs hosted blogs
