Nah, Peaches, I was just having martinis with my dad who is president of Shell Oil. I am sure your dad knows him well. I think you mentioned he was president of IBM when you lived on the upper east side and used to be rich. My how the bullshit can fly. LOL.

I just kind of let it lie when all of you high rollers decided that poor little content guys never make enough money to post here anyway and all kinds of legal threats were being tossed around by morons. I just don't think that aggro is worth it actually. So I decided to take the advice of many when it gets heated. I concentrated on business and travel. Damn autumn in Provence and Paris was a bitch. Someday maybe I too can have a shack in the backwoods like Peaches. Then maybe I can return to Oprano. But I must say Gonzo, this place is looking good and I do get some great info and gossip lurking.
Glad to see the old school disappeared. It will be interesting to see if 12clicks can make it fly. It might settle that old school vs honest business debate once and for all. I seem to recall he said he would never ever do porn again. The money was all in mainstream and he had enough to retire anyway. Should be a good soap opera.

I dont have Interpol or disatisfied people looking for me.
I pay my paultry mortgage every month on a house with no boasts of just paying against the interest. I think the call those people renters and they dont have to pay property tax.
I sleep well at night and I cross the border at will.

Im glad you still enjoy the board. It took me awile to get a business plan in mind and I am still executing it little by little. People can whine all they want to about how this place is dead but you and I know that A LOT of people read this place and have never posted.

Something about having credibility I suppose.
And thats much more effective than my claim to fame of being fat.

I don't think this place is dead and apparently neither does Alexa. Its real traffic and interesting discussion. It is the best this board has ever been. It feels more like real business than all that smoke and mirrors bullshit that used to fly around here and many other boards. Most of us who have been around awhile and are good at it, can recognise crap for what it is. Some of us learned the hard way. Some harder than others. But this is a great and potentially profitable business and if anyone says they are getting out, MHO is that they are not doing well. Fuck this going mainstream shite. Isn't it funny how many "retire" to live off their "ginormous earnings and investments" only to return and try and regroup to see if they can keep up with those of us who stayed because we were earning money? I guess when they can't afford the country club anymore and the only Bentley they will ever see again is in a brochure and that damn pesky border just gets in the way, they gotta try something or their finger nails will break trying to hang on to the rope. It just cracks me up.

Im not hung up on it personally.
It is what it is.
If it functions nothing more than a blog for me and a place to organize information and news then its worth what I paid for it.

But your right. Not only does Alexa numbers tend to agree with that statement but so do google analytics. And those numbers combined with server stats are very informative.

A lot of people read Oprano daily and frequently.
Some people just dont have the time or inclination to post.

see, the thing is, in my family, gas is a lifestyle, so we are so used to constantly pushing air out our bungholes that we don't even realize we are doing it most of the time

I remember the days growing up when my mom would be standing in the kitchen making dinner and about every 10 minutes you would hear a nice "brrrrrrpppp" followed by a "oooo, sorry!"
