why in the world do webmaster boards that get maybe one new thread a day added... and it is inevitably a thread wishing everyone a happy day or some such bullshit, even continue to exist?
is it because some sponsors out there are stupid enough to shell out some money to have a banner on them?
when a site has been reduced to that kind of bullshit i think they should do their part and just die out.
clean the net of these wastes of space that i have to check each day in the unbelieveably optimistic hope that something useful might be posted there at some point in the future!

There are a few boards that used to be popular and I was a regular at that are down to a few posts a day so I stop by once or twice a week instead of a fews times a day. Of course, the ones that also have resource sites can still be valuable to advertisers because they can still have a decent amount of traffic.

yeah i stopped by this one board today... and yesterday and pretty much every day before that for weeks hoping to find some life there... you know, find something interesting to reply to... nothing man.. freaking ghost town and by the looks of it it has been for awhile now

I just shook my head and thought "man i would never make a post here, it'd prolly be days before someone replied and they'd shit some wisdom like 'LOL' or something"
I count about 5 or 6 boards that I would visit regularly and that actually move with new threads

It does depend on your reasons for posting on a board though. For me I seldom do it just for fun because I can think of better ways to have fun. I do it primarily for business and to be honest, the small business related boards that aren't that busy give me far more benefit than the busy boards where it's a bunch of kids and morons and keyboard warriors pissing with each other and bragging about the bling I know they don't have.

I post for 2 reasons -- if I need a break from work and want some mindless posting and chatter, I'll visit 2 specific boards and post. If I need to do some business, there are several serious boards I'll visit. One out there I visit really has nothing but bullshit posts but it's good if you have some time to kill.

There was a time I was going to do a webmaster board, but once I realized there were SO many out there plus there really wasn't a need for another one, I dropped the idea. There are probably 20-30 I've never been to and probably won't ever visit.

I've always wondered how some of these people post what seems like night and day and then wonder why they aren't making any money. These are usually the same people who want auto submitters, auto gallery creators, auto blog posters, etc.

I used to feel that boards were a total waste of time. Then i felt that boards were very important but way to clique-ish

now i feel that I can BS and I can get together with others and hopfully make us some money..

its the boards that are dead or who inflate themselves that just makes me roll my eyes and wonder what is the point... boardwhores dont even hit some of the boards i see LOL

The problem is several boards pay you to post. Now, if you're lazy and want everything automated, you can kill time posting about nonsensical things and make a few bucks a day.

Some boards give you prizes for the most posts, most creative posts, etc etc. It's a great incentive to not work.

I am a complete and utter whore when it comes to free shit... junk even with company logos on them. I don't know why but something in me switches and I just love that crap... its a quirk
there is one very good webmaster board that gives out a statue or a friendly Deity at 1000 posts... i am jonesing for one of those things really bad

luckily my time is spent more on working then posting but i still want that statue like its a fat loss miracle pill

I work for a small production company out of Vancouver and I post so that people know we're still out there. With only 5 employees and so much work for us all to do at the studio, it's pretty much left up to me to "represent" on the boards.

Some forums just take a while to get up and going. If advertising is done well it shouldn't be a forever lasting problem. It really sucks some of these people put so much time and effort into a community only for it to not succeed as planned.

There was no Nick3131 dinner Peaches. I figured since they all were feeling generous with plane tickets and show badges that they would take the boy and his dog for dinner. That dog looked hungry while they were sleeping in the lobby.

What happened with that?

I even sent word that I was onsite and good for $100 toward his dinner bar tab.

Anyhow . . . since the video was such a hit I figured Id let this fall out of the big bag.
