Mmmmm, my favorite salad is butter lettuce, apples, craisins, toasted walnuts, chives and blue cheese crumbles with Briannas Blush Wine Vinagrette.

Re: I am an addict :(
come to think of it,I use craisins in a couple different recipes...
I love to wilt down fresh baby spinach in a little shallot oil, salt and pepper, then whisk together a dressing of craisins, basalmic vinegar, orange zest, a small squirt of lime juice and just a couple crushed red pepper flakes and drizzle the vinagrette over the warm spinach on a plate........in fact, I need to stop by the store and pick up some baby spinach tomorrow ;) |

Since I had never heard of this creation, I mentioned it to my girlfriend.
She tells me she likes them. She also suggested that someone who eats sardines should not criticize other people's taste in food. Uppity friggin' women ... |

I highly recomend the DVD "Bill Hicks: Satirist, Social Critic, Standup Comedian" His comedy isn't for the easily offended, but underneath the obscenity is a ton of social criticism and he doesn't just have an issue nailing both the left and the right. There is an old joke amongst comedians that goes: "Why is Denis Leary a famous successful comedian while Bill Hicks still unknown in the US? Because there's no cure for cancer" (Bill Hicks died of pancreatic cancer and Denis Leary's special that got him his notoriety was called "No Cure For Cancer") you can grab the DVD from amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...s=dvd&n=507846 Netflix also has the DVD |
Re: I am an addict :(

Re: I am an addict :(
Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor & George Carlin are among my all time favorites, and Carlin owes a whole lot of his early stuff to things he liberated from Bruce, "Seven Dirty Words" chief among them.. If contemporary comedians are "ground-breaking", it can be measured in inches compared to the yards those guys broke up.
All time favorite is still Red Skelton, though. |

others: Dane Cook Jim Norton Mitch Hedburg Dave Attell Jim Gaffigan Larry The Cable Guy Ron White Lewis Black John Stewart Eddie Izzard Robert Schimmel David Cross Bobcat Goldthwait (80's version) Jay Mohr is kind of hit or miss with me...sometimes I find him really funny and other times I don't I'm generally not a fan of female comedians except Sarah Silverman, Lisa Lampinelli, Margaret Smith and Judy Tanuta There are other comedians I find funny at times but tend to be hit or miss with me... |

one of the main reasons i got XM radio was for the comedy channel. Have to agree PD, carlin and pryor were certainly ahead of their time then. at least i think they were... I was just a little kid haha. i can remember listening to richard pryor in grade school. i dont know why i was so obsessed with comedy when i was little. i can remember being in the first grade and having steve martins albums memorized. i was always chanting the 7 words you could never say on TV :) |

Moving boundaries. Breaking down borders...

The Montey Python Crew was also breaking new ground as well. I was watching them the other day actually. is was The Flying Circus skit where the mafia guys are trying to extort money from the army "well uh,,, you got a lot of lot of nice tanks and stuff around here ya know, be a shame if some of em' got broken" Hard to believe when i watch some of the Flying Circus stuff and laugh my ass off... that it was made before i was even born. |
