haha... i remember i was in vancouver once with my friends in a bar and someone said something about hockey to me and i shot back "fuck hockey, that game sucks and no one watches it" or something like that. i was a little drunk and forgetting where i was.

i will never forget that moment - the music stopped, everyone stopped and looked at me and time seemed to stand still for days while i just sat there struggling to make something useful and helpfull come out of my mouth before i got the shit kicked out of me.

When presented with a conversation about hockey and you know nothing about the game, you have two options. Both will end your participation in the hockey topic:
1. "Which team lost the most blood?" (Person will rave gleefully for at least half an hour on all of the fights in the game, requiring no further input other than approving grunts from you.)
2. "Sorry man, the only hockey I want to talk about right now is a 'body check' on that hot blonde/brunette/redhead over there." (Person will turn to look and the topic will then turn to comparing hot babes in the near vicinity or past conquests.)
