If the US find some guy that is really good at tiddlywinks , will everyone be following that too?

No fair Nick... :P

Winning the Tour de France 7 times in a row is gargantuan!
History will remember Lance "Superman" Armstrong as one of the greatest athletes in the history of modern man.

Rolo 07-21-2005 09:50 AM

Yeah - Lance is a man that will be remembered for years to come. I also think this is the perfect time for him to stop - the competion would take the title next year, if he continued. Ivan Basso have really improved from last year - no doubt he will win it next year.

The accurate question is wether americans will pay any attention to the tour next year, answer is no.

Will Le Tour be any worse for it, answer again is no.

Mike AI 07-21-2005 11:08 AM

Lane is the man. His story is one the the greatest sports/human interest stories the past 100 years.

The tour will have less attention next year, not only in the US, but around the world.

However, there are some talented up and coming Americans. Levi Leipheimer and Floyd Landis are in the top 10.

GO LANCE GO!!!

Steady 07-21-2005 11:12 AM

This is Armstrong's last race.

In one interview, before the race started he said...

"The faster I pedal, the sooner I finish. The sooner I finish, the sooner I can retire". :okthumb:

USA, USA, USA, USA... :salute:

I would say that is incorrect... now, the French, the Germans, the Spaniards will have a very decent chance to win, if anything, they'll follow it more.

The tour was over after 15km this year.... should be more exciting next year.

but Armstrong legend will live on forever...

TheEnforcer 07-21-2005 11:38 AM

Tough SOB. What he's done is amazing!

EroticySteve 07-21-2005 02:15 PM

He's unstoppable. He's done what no man has done before and very likely what another may never do. Go out at the top.

He's shown that you can be an athlete while keeping your nose clean and staying out of trouble.

He's also the most drug tested man in sports. He's come up clean every time.

I hope that he does win this, it's a great win for him, a great win for the US and a new title that few others will ever match.
