Hey folks..
On one of our domains we have old links inbound to an old webfeed. Due to new hosts and other issues our feeds and whole directory system is diferant. Currenty there is several high ranking pages running the webfeeds on them but they all link to this url below. We want to display our new feeds on those pages. http://www.newsinsider.org/cgi/webfeed.cgi...arnum=10&out=js Our new feed url is this.. http://www.newsinsider.org/feed/ Is there a way i can use the REWRITE rule to have our feeds display on those other pages that pull the old feed? Thanks in advance! |
why not use a redirect...
redirect: Redirect /olddirectory/oldfile.html http://yoursite.com/newdirectory/newfile.html or if the only thing in the cgi directory that is erroroing is the webfeed.cgi you could handle it with an errordocument. errordocument: ErrorDocument 500 http://yoursite.com/newdirectory/newfile.html but yes, it could probably be done with a rewrite. Would take more code though :) |
using rewrite would be something like this, not sure if the syntax is perfect
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^http://www.newsinsider.org/cgi/.*$ [NC] ReWriteRule webfeed.cgi*$ http://www.newsinsider.org/feed/ [R,L] |
