A friend of mine and I are having a disagreement. She says that phone sex is not cheating. I say it is. What are your thoughts? Is it ok to do if you have never met the person face to face? What if it is an ongoing thing for months at a time?

IMO cheating is something that hurts your SO or something you have to lie to your SO about. If your SO knows you're having phone sex and it doesn't bother them, it's not cheating. If it does or you know you can't tell them because it will hurt them, then it is.

It's just as easy to have phone sex with your SO and a LOT cheaper :)

Phone sex used to be very interesting, but now with all the little tiny cellphones it is rather boring....

The definition of cheating has to be understood by both parties. As long as both are ok with it there's no problem, but if it's done behind someone's back, that to me would be cheating.

Cheating assumes that there is agreed upon acceptable behavior. If you're hiding something because you know it is outside the bounds of your relationship it is cheating.
