It's in the 30's here - FINALLY the winter came! The few bulbs the critters hadn't dug up were trying to bloom in Jan, lol!

Got my fireplace on and I'm happy :)

TheEnforcer 01-17-2005 04:13 PM

Damn wimpy webmasters. Come here to Wisconsin it's been well below zero the past five days or so. Right now it's currently 4 degrees outside with a wind chill of minus twelve! Nice and balmy weather. Got my thermostat set at 62 and i'm in shorts and a tank top around the house!! :okthumb:

Lee 01-17-2005 04:17 PM

LOL

Hey if the sun isnt out and its not at least 70 degrees out, i dont leave the house LOL

I may be wimpy but it sure beats being cold LOL

Well the strange thing is, everyone around here that actually knows me cant beleive how long it took me to acclimatize to the weather system.

Within about 2 months of being here (4 1/2 years ago) i stopped wearing shorts 24/7 and opted to wear pants in the daytime when the temp dropped below 70 degrees lol

Mike AI 01-17-2005 04:32 PM

It's 57 right now in Tampa. It's not bad as long as the sun is out, and you are in it. But once sun goes away, its cold!!

Hopefully the cold front will move away soon!

and lets not forget the 20 miles an hour wind... so nice....

kath 01-18-2005 02:37 AM

I saw on CNN this morning that it was -54 below in Embarrass, Minnesota (found the link too - http://www.cnn.com/2005/WEATHER/01/17/cold....ap/index.html).

I feel sorta bad because we complained all day that it hit 75 and we were getting jipped on our "winter" season. lol

Can you IMAGINE -54?!? No frigging way. I'll keep my earthquakes, floods and mudslides thank you very much!

grimm 01-18-2005 02:49 AM

One Day when I was at Ohio State, they closed school.. first day on record in 25 years. The temperature was -22, with wind chills far below that, and we got 2 feet of snow. It was back open the next day.

Coldest day ive ever been outside for a lengthy amount of time was the 1981 AFC championship game. i was only 5 going on 6. The freeze Bowl:)

grimm 01-18-2005 02:50 AM

and people around New Orleans freak out when it drops below 40, which it has for the last 5 days. only 44 right now

Well, yeah, but we were laughing at her when she was trying to find out a way to cool her house with no AC during a "heat wave" :P

cj 01-18-2005 09:21 AM

midnight here in brisbane ........

Wednesday
Mostly fine. Only a shower or two. Moderate S to SE winds, fresh at times.
Current Temperature: 21 C (72F)
Forecast Max: C
Wind Direction & Speed: SW at 4 knots
Humidity: 77%
Pressure: 1019.2 hPa

:biglaugh:

Peaches 01-18-2005 09:27 AM

It's a bit nippy here:

19F
Wind: CALM
Humidity: 31%
Pressure: 30.61 in.
Dew Point: -1°F

Edited - we might get some flurries on Sun :) So far, only a couple of days this year where we've had snow and it was only a dusting :(

cj 01-18-2005 09:39 AM

and yet it snowed in vegas?!

31% humidity LOL
that was one thing i couldn't get used to about winters over there, the dryness of the air - and it hurts your ears and fingers!!!!

i'm such a wimp about cold weather LOL

Cleo 01-18-2005 09:47 AM

I'm going to have to find a long sleeve top to wear to the gym today.

31% humidity is VERY, VERY low for us. We are as bad as FL during the spring/summer/fall.

When I spent a week in CA last summer and walked out of the ATL airport coming home, the actual weight of the air was so measurable being out of it for so long. I also have to replace several items every year in the house because I refuse to shut my windows and turn the AC on to keep it dry B)

cj 01-18-2005 10:11 AM

i don't blame you for avoiding the ac
i've tried to use mine as little as possible this year and keep the windows open to catch the natural breeze

but i've also been working a lot in bikini's to compensate :biglaugh:

These temps down in the sixties are killing me. I can't wait for our hot and humid summer, especially some real powerful nasty hurricanes.

PornoDoggy 01-18-2005 12:51 PM

It is 0 here today. The wind is steady at 12, gusting to 30.

Yes, we say "way up North" but I can't tell you how many people have come up to me in California and ask, "Hey you're from Ohio... do you know [enter first name here]?" You know - like Ohio is just so damned small that we know everyone - of course they probably think we're all related too......

Next time someone asks, "Do you know Bob?" I'm going to answer, "Yeah, he's a real asshole, isn't he?" and just walk away. lol

I know SW Ohio area a little... my favorite cousins all live in Mason... we used to watch Snoopy & the Red Baron fly over from that amusement park over there from their backyard when I was little.
