Steroids are a bad thing boys and girls......
|
NFL has a pretty strong steriod testing policy. Lineman in the NFL have a much shorter life span then the average male in the US. Probably a major factor is weight.
Reggie White was a class act. RIP. |
Just because he's nice sometimes in front of a camera doesn't mean he's a good guy. Roiding is a bad example to kids, and dying early because if it is a good example. Screw'm.

It used to be that linemen were merely crippled after they retired. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the generation that has come up in the last couple of decades as they start to age. Remember back in 1985 or so it was a big deal that William "The Fridge" Perry was over 300 pounds. Now, that's about average for the line.....and they're running the 40 in high 4's. You're not going to see size and strength evolve that fast just by hitting the weight room a bit harder. |
Reggie White is a class act
While I can 't say with certainty that he didn't do 'roids personally I don't think so He was a hell of a football player and press showed him to be a positive type person on and off the field |

Grogan, if Reggie White privately snorted coke-laced steroids before every meal, beat his wife and his dog every day ending in "y", and cheated while playing Monopoly with his kids, he will still have more class in his little finger than you will ever muster in your pathetic little life.
I don't happen to agree with Reggie White's views on faith, but I had a hell of a lot of respect for him as a man. In an era when even mediocre athletes have Groganesque egos, he stood out. As much as it pains me to agree with Mike :D, he was indeed a class act in an era when even mediocre athletes have Groganesque egos (difference being they have something besides a Camaro to be boastful of) - and my opinion of him won't change if it turns out 'roids did play a factor in his death. |
I agree that he was a class act, and a very positive role model for many.
However I still believe he used enhancers, as the majority of profesional athletes since the 80's have.... Marion jones is a postive role model mark Mcguier is a positive role model George brett etc etc... but face it to be in the pros now enhancement ( although be it may not be steroids per se) is an inevitable if you truley want to compete... sorta like the shave model in porn many good guys do it, they are just quieter about their personal stuff. |

The damage is not done acutly, it is a long term effect of messing with his heart. ( wich use of enhancers do) |

[/b][/quote] yep i have yet ti hear anything definitive. i have yet to hear anything definitive of steroids causing early death/ Lyle alzado? he died of metastetized brain cancer, which ran in his family. yes, he doped, but it had nothing to do with his death. I would be hard pressed to believe than anyone as naturally gifted as reggie white, would need to contaminate his body. the man was a physical specimiin from poor community college to the hall of fame. there will never be a better pass rusher |

Talent doesnt always mean going outside the oundaries of the norm to achieve it. People just look for a story. They can all blow me. RIP Reggie white.. one of the best to ever play and represent the game. Leave it at that |
