I had been thinking about booking a short break holiday in Bali and mentioned the idea to a couple of friends over weekend.

The topic of terrorists came up... and how safe it really was to travel anywhere. After talking about it the 3 of us all decided we felt safer travelling to Bali than into the US for Vegas right now.

Because trying to fly into Bali you don't get too many US homeland security style government "kidnappings"... (I'm an anglo-saxon white boy and I don't have any other sort of reason to worry more than an average person about being picked up btw)

Would be an interesting survey to find out how many "average white folk" outside the US are now less worried for their safety flying into a country crawling with genuine terrorists like Indonesia, than into the USA. (we could be the only 3 to think that way I realise)

(looks like the board poll option is gone or I would have added one)

Just a freindly reminder, if anyone here would like to have offshore hosting, Joe can help with that.

I think it would be impossible for any country to succeeed in taking the US by force...

Therefore I am more concerned with the enemy within.. than any foriegn occupation of any kind.

I can understand that.. wouldn't expect Australia to design our security for the convenience of others either.

Only grabbed my interest as 3 people thought the same about Bali v Vegas.. and on surface that would seem a pretty weird decision to come to.

I expect fear of the unknown is making the US homeland security threat seem larger from here too btw. Seen a few disconcerting incidents about people being held as 9/11 "witnesses" or nabbed by homeland security because of some unchecked report filed by Constable Plod of upper-cumbucca west that he was "suspicous of some arab in the area as he eats falafel.. and anyone that eats that shit must have a suicide wish" or ....................... insert similar ludacrous mistake here for a dozen more reported problems.
