Lack of NHL hockey is really starting to sink in now for me, and for a lot of other hockey fans.

Oh, there's a strike? I haven't followed hockey since Gretzky retired.

I'm trying to catch all the breaking news on the free agent market for baseball's offseason....I forgot about the hockey strike...

Unfortunately no... The league (NHL) and the player's association (NHLPA) haven't met for meetings since September 9th.

The funny thing is, many of the teams are losing less money because of the strike. I read on http://www.nhlcba.com/ today that the Carolina Hurricanes are projecting a loss of 7.5 million if no games are played this year. During last year's regular season, the same team lost 22 million.

Something needs fixing for sure. As much as it sucks to be without hockey, I support the league in it's efforts to heal itself, and ALL of the teams.

One of the signs of the baseball season for me is when the Blues choke in the playoffs ... :yowsa:
