Or will be pull a Gore?
|
No he probably wont concede.
|
he will flip flop

Exactly. I hope he has enough class and respect for the Country to do the right thing. But I doubt he will. I think he will go the route of Gore. |
He will concede, take it back, then sue. :yowsa:
When the lawsuit goes to shit, he will remind america that "I conceded before I took it back" |
Hey Grogan ... what happened to Bush carrying Illinois?

Looked at the polls more closely, looked like a blowout for kerry. Poor folk on south side of chicago were more "jazzed" to vote. Never the less, illinois aint gonna be close. My vote is not needed. I'll admit it, my initial prediction on illinois was wrong. I'm frequently right and more frequently right on "bigger scope", like who will win presidency. Like I told my girlfriend and grandma, the point is, statistics prove me to be very frequently right when going on my OWN thoughts, not poll stats. I did not base my illinois predictions on stats and more negro youth and slum dwellers from south side voted. |
Kerry should concede at the same point in his campaign that W did in his during the last election.

My dog has a 50/50 chance of being right on a multiple choice question with two options, boy ...

Send in the lawyers..... |
Oh, let's just all declare civil war already. :kapow: :shooter:

Nice dodge Mike, answer the question...
Would Bush concede if situations were reversed? More importantly, would you be whining about it if he didn't? |
Quote:
You mean like Nixon did? In same shoes, I would think Bush would concede. It might not be first reaction, which is fight - but all evidence points to Bush winning. Bush will be first President Candidate since 1988 to get a true majority. Even Clinton did not get that. |
Well I think you are mistaken and Bush wouldn't.
Pity ya didn't answer the other question about if you'd want him to do it... Not answering kinda makes it seem that you have double standards don't you think? |
Bush would not concede either.
|
Four more years of Mike gloating is almost as bad as four more years of Bush. Almost.
Sheesh, nothing worse than a sore winner! :burn: |
It depends on the margins. In 2000 there were like 4-5 states where margin of victory was under .5%. That's worthy of a recount and waiting a few days on the absentee ballots, etc. However, when that didn't work out, things got out of control in Florida with the Democrats wanting to change how the ballots were counted with the hanging chads, etc.
Alot of lessons were learned in 2000, most states have well defined processes for all of this now and definitions of what exactly constitutes a vote in the event of the old style punch cards with chads, etc. Ohio is one such state by the way. In this case, it looks like there isn't going to be a state that is THAT close. The election is close enough to warrant waiting til tomorrow I think. Re-eveluate things like absentee ballots outstanding, etc at that point and see where it stands. But if there's 2% margin of victory in a state the size of Ohio, that's 100,000+ vote margin. It's bullshit to contest an election just because you do not like the results or to try to legally manipulate the process. The powers that be in the DNC are so partisan though, I fear that is exactly what'll happen. If nothing else it strings along the Meni's and Michael Moores of the world who are convinced Bush was never elected. |

If all the evidence was leaning towards Kerry like it is Bush, I would accept it. I think it is more important to move forward, and not have our election process turned into an ongoing lawsuit. Bush won MAJORITY of popular vote, he will win electorial college, republicans added seats to Senate, and House AND he is sitting President. ( that and the reality is that Renquist will live long enough to give another 5-4 rule if need be) Bush has won. Like I said 4 years ago - DEAL WITH IT. |

Yeah Kerry is a regular statesman who never does anything stupid. Come on Kerry said as many stupid things as Bush ever did. The whole I voted for it before voting against it KILLED Kerry.... IT was in tons of ads, in the debates, etc... etc.... |
But Bush and crew do it WHILE they run the government! And no, there's no funnier political fodder than Dubya. Sorry about that, but it's true.
As for Kerry ... stupidest campaign people I ever did see. They made more mistakes that an alderman running in a hick town. |

The ironic thing is I have about as much claim to Bush's success as my mainstream..... :D Slav I thought for sure you would be pulling for me.... |

HAHA My candidate won.... that is reality, not fantasy. :nyanya: [/quote] what can I say all of my local candidates and initiatives I voted for won...so I was on the wrong side with Kerry nationally and Gallagher locally.... Gallagher got hurt by local smears that worked...people who bitch about dirty politics just encourage it more by voting for the guy who plays the dirtiest... At least we get 6 more years of Harry Reid and more cops on the streets and a raise in the minimum wage in Nevada. We also get trial lawyers reigned in a bit on medical malpractice suits (maybe we can bring back some of the good doctors we lost because of increasing malpractice insurance...but sadly, we still have to deal with those stupid fucking cunts at the insurance companies...) Sorry, I've always maintained local voting is more important than national voting... |

but i would still take your your political opinions over your mainstream gloating anyday |
