Over the past few weeks Ive been taking a very casual approach to the radio show. Ive needed to rewire some new gear and actually hear what Im doing. So Ive played a little music, read a little news and moved around a bunch of cabling.

The result has been identifying bad patch cables..[I still have a bad set of headphones] and identifying a visit from Hooper. Subsequently I have more control over the audio levels plus Ive actually heard the broadcast with its lag so I can adjust the sound levels.

The good news is the set up has finally been tested properly and Ive eliminated all the problems except for the headphones. We never really tested much since we went pretty much live as soon as the service was launched. So the changes were much needed and in place.

The radio show has always seemed to have a split personality so the decision was to take time the time to split them into 2 seperate identities. Oprano Radio now will become the weekly hot topics and general news and discussion that has been the bulk of the broadcast in the past.

OWNED is a special presentation which we will promote like a 20/20 or 60 minutes episode in the same time spot. A lot have people have come up to say ... hey man when are you going to own someone again? You got to catch them critters first before you can bust them out. Trust me it aint over yet.

Tonight we are running silent...simply becasue I dont have any programming prepared. Power has been off and on here all morning and night. THe storm is impacting Georgia and SC so the connection to the shoutcast server was spotty this afternoon...and now ICQ is up and down so I decided to scrap it for the evening.

I apprecaite everyone that has come out in the past no matter if the shows were spectatular or shitty. In the future you can tune in each Tuesday for Opranoradio for a little news and discussion. However when the HOT LIGHT goes on and OWNED is scheduled to air you wont want to miss one of those episodes.

Rumor also has it that CJ has some special programming she has done to add to the show. Skype willing....I might get her out of bed to check in every so often.

gonzo's been working his butt off to make this all work and from the sound of the last few shows, the audio quality is now greatly improved.

I think we are planning a big blowout rock da hizzouse kinda show in the next few weeks to catch up on all that's been happening & introduce some new features. We'll keep you posted!

I haven't continued with the weekly show for a number of reasons - mainly because there were a lot of complaints ranging from 'couldnt understand my accent' to 'the timeslot is too late' so you can now tune into the weekly show and listen to stuff you understand - and maybe even suggest a new time slot that is for american's only.

Gonzo is currently helping me with some features for upcoming shows including The General talking about PPC search engines, bulk email and domains, Brian from PistolMedia.com talking about DRM, Lisa from PornMegaBucks.com talking about affiliate fraud management and SEOGuru and BaldBastard talking about generating search engine traffic.

If you don't want to listen to australian accents ... tough! Some of the information in these audio features is gold and is worth making the effort - aussie webmasters are amazing ... being stuck down here on this island has made most of us work smarter. There's 100's of webmasters here who have never heard of oprano, netpond or gfy ... and maybe its a coincidence, but NONE of them seem to be struggling.

I'd actually love to try doing stand-up or soemthing like that just for the thrill I would get from it.. but I was blighted with zero talent for movement or sound with my body ;-)



I just clicked that "where are they now" thread gonzo posted in October last year.... and the first five or so posts ask about SkITz... no word of exageration.. he contacted me on ICQ less than 24 hours ago just to say Hi... first time in a year or more at least... maybe its a sign, he asked If I wanted to work on a controversial religous/issues topics based site with him too, so it sounds like he is ready to get back into the old SkiTZ persona :-))))
