Do not waste your money to see the movie. Infact, I would not waste your time even when it comes out on HBO!
My IQ dropped a few points after leaving the theater!! |
 Anchorman ?

If I watched that movie again I would end up posting like this for the rest of my life and think that Howard Stern was God. |

I thought the previews looked like shit. Besides I think Will Ferrell sucks. Not funny at all IMO.Thanks Mike that just solidified it. I'm not a big fan of Will Smith but I think his new movie coming out looks REAL good. I forget what it's called. Anyone see the trailers yet?

;-)
Correct. I saw Dodgeball and even though I thought it was going to suck, I actually really enjoyed it - lots of very clever crude humor B) I also LOVE Will Ferrell but will probably wait for the DVD. |

I actually liked "Anchorman".
I guess you just have to be a Will Ferrell fan and enjoy his style of humor. JoesHO1, you're quite wrong as it did $28 million this weekend, coming in second to Spider-Man 2 but kicking ass all over that putrid looking shitburger "King Arthur" (3 $100 million dollar flops in the same calendar year...how does Michael Eisner still have a job? Maybe he has the secret Walt Disney Sex Loops? |
All my buddies want to go see Arthur tommorrow night. Bah. I reckon it's going to be shit, but we'll go to the pub afterwards and i just really want to get stuck into some guinness.
|
I liked King Arthur. I would watch it again.

Mike, sorry you didn't care for it. I found it hilarious. I think my wife needs to start posting on Oprano, she didn't care for it either ;-) |

he's a really good comedic actor. see him in one of the strangers with candy episodes where he plays an indian education camp leader (I believe its feather in the storm) don't blame me mike! my review included the words "cheeseball blockbuster"!!!! and, like you did im sure, I was really like "you are all fools and i'm soo much better than you SCUMbags!" to the people laughing at the stupidest shit. but there's more to a film than the dialog, but unfortunately, not REALLY in this case. my filmschooled girfriend got a few laughs like me, but, as me, branded is as the lower class appealing cheeseball blockbuster. (and we were both kinda waiting out the end of our vested interest....) the fact is, money doesn't lie. a 30 mill budget film that grosses 30 mil the first weekend is bank in the eyes of the big name actors and all corporations involved. there are great films in this world, but you also have to please the mass-bonehead-audience (some will call this flick their favorite movie). bonehead joe 12 pack = $$$, I think we all know that. |

I will never see any of these stupid king arthur movies. I would much rather read the original texts, The Knight of the Cart, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and such. the movies just fuck it up and make it cheesy. |

Takeshi Miike or Pre-Lord Of The Rings Peter Jackson? Ang Lee or Tsui Hark? |
I saw The Whole 10 Yards instead of Arthur. Hilarious. Highly recommend it. :D
|
Don't waste your $$$ on the Terminal either... not sure if I bitched about it in here or not, but if Spielberg's idea was to make people feel like they were waiting in the airport for 9 months right along with Tom Hanks, then he did it. lol It was AGONIZING... Hanks did a good job with his character but even he couldn't save a boring, dead-ended plot... 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back...
We're going to see King Arthur tonight... thanks for the tip on the Anchorman... that was on the summer list... :wnw: |
LOL, if you head downtown you can get the DVDs for 5 bucks each, sometimes before the movies come out. Then you can decide if you want to buy the good copy or not.

Can you pause them to smoke and go to the bathroom and not have to listen to people that wont shut up in front of you a week before the theaters get it? ;) It's great I think, I have no problem buying a good copy of movies I like to get the better quality. I do have a problem sitting still in a movie theater tho... |

LOL, that's one of the reasons I don't like movie theaters :) And all the times I've replayed something with the CC on so I can figure out what they said. Between DVD's and Tivo, I finally am able to grasp a lot more of what I watch :awinky: |
A lot of the movies I like never see the light of a projection booth...
they go straight to DVD anyways and are usually $5-10 when they do hit the street... |
