What is classic New York type food?

From television experience only... I would guess a Deli, a Pizza joint or a hotdog stand...

Opti,
for me, New York is one city which has it ALL. New York has the BEST collection and varaity of etnic foods out there. 99% of immimgrants start in NY and they all bring their native cousines
;-)

We'll try Indonesean place, LittleC got us hooked on it in Amsterdam.

NOW you can stop thinking, Stan
