VAN NUYS, Calif. - As a result of Darren James HIV-positive diagnosis, the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (AIM) has compiled a quarantine list of nine first- and second-generation performers in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. A first-generation partner is someone who has had sex with James recently. People who have had sex with a first-generation partner are considered second-generation partners. First-generation performers who have been notified of their quarantine status by AIM are as follows: Laura Rox, Carmen Real, Rhonda Richardson, Jessica D, Marrisa Arroyo. There is also one first-generation performer, a Canadian female named Patricia, whose last name is not known. AIM has not been able to locate this performer and she is not answering her cell phone. Patricia is working with Judy Starr and they both were staying at the Ramada Inn. She is possibly from Montreal or somewhere in Quebec as she speaks French. Anyone with information on Patricia should immediately call AIM. “Everyone has been very helpful, but obviously if anyone has any information about first generation partners, we’d really appreciate it,” Mitchell said. First-generation performers will wait until 30 days have passed since their scene with James, then take the PCR-DNA and RNA tests for HIV. The only second-generation performers known at this time are Marc Anthony and T.T. Boy. They are not considered nearly as high-risk as the first-generation performers. “We’ve asked them and anyone else who has worked with anyone who has worked with Darren to please refrain from working in the community until the primary quarantine list has cleared out,” Mitchell said. Mitchell says that everyone should be out of quarantine by May 6 if all goes well, though most people on the list will have cleared even earlier. |
Lot of rumors swirling around.
Some people are saying the Feds are going to use this opportunity to crack down on the biz - claiming Health risks. |

Frankly I don't see how anyone could work as a performer in this biz especially condom free, too little money too big of risk. And all I can think of to answer that is drugs... edit: and those using drugs are obviously putting themselves and everyone else at even more risk based on the method of use. BTW- I'm glad that AVN came out with this when they did. this could have been a lot bigger than it already is. |
This is an issue that is going to resonate for a long time.
I hear all production has ceased. This is a good reaction from studios, this is something of MAJOR importance. Glad we have a lot already shot and in the can. |
All production ceasing would be the worst thing. Then you've got a few hundred out of work porn stars out turning tricks all over the West Coast and Vegas.
|
I have AIDS,
suck my cock at your own risk, I do NOT use condoms ;-))) |
I can see this notice being sent to producers who have worked with these stars privately, but posting their names (even screen names) in public??
Uhh... sorry but isn't there a law against that? If I had AIDS and some rag found out and decided to publish it they'd get their asses sued off... |

It's a good deterrant against taking unnecessary chances with unprotected sex, and it's a strong tool for them to get information and warnings out when something like this occurs. But this is America, and that's California, so you can certainly sue anyone for anything if you dont mind paying the lawyers. |

if you had AID's and you made your living by fucking people, then i think there is a much bigger concern than your selfish personal issues. :P |
Krispy Kreme- This is a public Service announcement brought to you by the Fat Fucking Nobodys. All doughnuts were comsumed in the making of this press release.
Have you ever seen a fat fucker with AIDS before? With the recent news of a possible health scare within the adult industry now is the time to reconsider your talent options. With a Fat Fucking Nobody you can be assured that your women are safe from any disease. Remember AIDS can turn the healthiest looking stud into a toothpick in a heartbeat! Women who have had sex with a FFN are considered a 1st generation "lucky bitch." Atlanta preformer Raw Dawgins displaces her carpet burns in the middle of her back like a badge of honor. "It was great...and when we finished up around breakfast time I was spirited off to a brunch of Starbucks and doughnuts." "Best part is I can tell all my friends...he's a fat guy... no worries...no aids!" FFN's HQ issued this statement from the Ponce De Leon Krispy Kreme building..."We've asked all those 1st generation LB's to tell their friends to bring original glazed and Cialis!" Please contact nick@ilynx.com for the best prices on discounted drugs! "Albertson's" is endorsed as the official US FFN pharmacy. And they deliver! |
i can vouch for that fat fuck!
women should have no worries with that shit! :rokk: |

I understand that some companies are temporarily shutting down productions until such time as everything can be sorted out with 2d/3d/etc tier of folks who have worked with Mr James and his partners since his previous negative test. AIM has set procedures for all this. When I sign the form to get my test, I give AIM permission to implement their notification procedures.

Careful there, Dave... with a quote like "when I sign the form", you'll have the rumor mill saying you're becoming a stunt cock! :P

Doctor/patient confidentiality. I wholeheartedly agree that this is a serious situation and AIDS is nothing to scoff at, but there are still confidentiality laws in place and this is highly private and protected information. On another note, is the adult film industry really so small that just 9 people can shut the whole thing down? Seems kinda silly to me. Film with someone else, not those actors/actresses - but cease production?!? |
And who/what did Darren James get it from?
You don't just grab this out of your Cap'n Crunch box. He could actually be 3rd generation, but no one is looking *up* the tree... just down. |

I concider myself lucky...when I grew up,
neither AIDS nor fax machines weren't there |
Finding out where he got AID is important. It is a very likely scenario he got it through intraveneous drug use, or homosexual sex.

This is all terrible news, I hope they all come back negative.

Even Drudge is linking to the AVN article about the AIDS outbreak.
That is a few million more eye balls. |
AIDS & HIV should not be taken lightly. It has just about scared me straight.

Just sent to me in ICQ:

Maybe this is what the industry needs to wake up to the real dangers of AIDS/HIV.
I remember a little mini-piss I had a few months back about a shoot done with alledged barebacking and tests that weren't up to date. Everyone wants to complain about spammers and crossbilling and yet no one gives a fuck about issues like this that affect our industry MUCH more than a couple emails in your inbox or an extra charge on your credit card. |

Actually, my first shoot was bareback also :( but I'm referring to the big public shoot in Florida. |

Peaches, it can actually take months, sometimes 6 before it can actually show up on a test, the way I understand it. I agree, this guy seems to be the center of the aids universe right now, but I highly doubt it started with him. Whose to say who gave it to who? Sadly, there are likely to be more. |
Another performer has HIV http://www.avn.com/index.php?Primary_Navig...ontent_ID=80660

meaning the spider bite and treatment lowered his immune system enough that he was more prone to get infected then if he had been in good health. Doesn't matter now, the industry is now right in the crosshairs of the CDC. Let's hope that it appears that the biz is taking this very seriously and acting responsibly so the argument can be made that we regulate ourselves. spaz |
I read that earlier at a different board. Didn't see anything about the spider bite though.

Anyone who shoots porn in Brazil is NUTS!! I never understood how Amercan porn people would go there and fuck without condoms. Brazil as a very HIGH HIV rate, especially in their porn industry.
This is going to have consequences for all of us in the industry. It is getting huge mainstream attention, its the top story on Drudge, its on every mainstream website ( CNN, FOX, ABC, etc...) This gives an opening to the gov't to come after the porn industry not on obscenity grounds, but rather on Health grounds. The door has been open. |

This is true, in the paper work one must sign with AIM it has a waiver that allows AIM to publish your name. It is the underpinning of how the whole safety net works. |
