I think that was the name of the place I passed it today..
Vick.. thats the place you like ?? Should I try it ?? |
Billy
http://www.coopsplace.net/ It's on Decatur St. by Ursulines, place looks like a dump from outside but the food is great Here the review from Fodor's = pretty accurate Casual drinking and supping, Louisiana style, is the order of the day at Coop's. The po'boys and gumbo, available into the wee hours, are some of the best found in the Quarter; a selection of 20 bottled beers and six on draught complement whatever you're having. A crankin' jukebox and popular pool table round out the laid-back bar experience. Definitely worth a stop, I have lunch there when I'm N.O., Gumbo is different every time I have it there |
Mmmmmm
http://www.coopsplace.net/Assets/ima...food-gumbo.jpg Damn it now I'm Hungry Funny thing is I'm having company over for dinner tonight and was thinking about making Seafood Gumbo Plus the bartenders and staff at Coop's are pretty cool, one of the very few places I found that has Red Breast (excellent whiskey) |
I will give it a shot Thur or Friday !
I am working in that area for now. When are you coming down ??? |
Cool, I think you'll like it
You can ask the bartender or staff what's good that day and they'll be honest with you May be down after Mardi Gras, sometime in the late spring |

Yeah Vick you need to come down soon!!! Make sure its when I will be in town as well!! |
Thanks Mike and Billy - Willcheck dates before I make plans
I sure do miss it Haven't been down since last year Mardi Gras - like to get there a few times a year If it weren't for Sebastian I'd probably move there Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans And miss it each night and day I know I'm not wrong... this feeling's gettin' stronger The longer, I stay away Miss them moss covered vines...the tall sugar pines Where mockin' birds used to sing And I'd like to see that lazy Mississippi...hurryin' into spring The moonlight on the bayou.......a Creole tune.... that fills the air I dream... about Magnolias in bloom......and I'm wishin' I was there |
Mike is he talking about New Orleans ??
