Man that's a gloomy thread.

Yeh, but the biggest story of the year is ACACIA........ I started seeing the effects of that as early as late Jan..... and it is still with us. Draining sponsors pocketbooks all year. Is there really an end in sight? After Acacia - who is next? Guess that probably will come to life after we see how Acacia fares.

There are two more waiting in the wings with similar patents Sharpie, although they're going right after the big mainstream guys right now unlike Acacia.
The Fight the Patent site has good write-ups about both of them and what their patents cover exactly.

Interesting comparing the 2003 review/prediction thread and now.

Two biggest things I saw, yep, what Sharpie said, Acacia was the biggest. The second biggest or maybe one should say the big surprise ... that iBill has made it another 12 months!

-New IBILL regulations
-1% Chargeback Limit
-Lots of Big Companies going out of Biz (especially a few hosting)
-Much Lower Hosting and Content Prices
-Lots of More Idiots in the Industry :)
-The End of AVS

more to come later...

I dunno,
2003 was good to me....but mostly thanks to the stock markets rather than industry.
