Hey guys - I wanted to drop a quick note and let everyone know that this coming Tuesday, 11/25/2003 6:00pm EST @ http://www.arsradiox.com we will have a Question & Answer regarding Patent Law & Ligitation with a panel of 3 IP lawyers.
The purpose of this show will be to help give a basic education about Patent Law & Litigation. We will not cover any specific lawsuits in this Q&A. The more educated we as a community are in these matters, the better decisions we can make and the less likely we will be 'bullied' around by people who feel we're an easy target. This is a MUST hear show and we invite EVERYBODY to attend. The material covered here is worth a TON - We'll be covering the exact same topics and questions that I've asked of my IP lawyers. Best of all, its absolutely FREE!! Again I look forward to seeing everyone there. http://www.arsradiox.com Tuesday Nov. 25 2003 6:00pm EST Don't be left in the dark and don't be late. |
Sounds good, Marc!

me and my daughter will be there!
she always expressed interest about the law... ;-))) |
Should be a great show!!
I will be listening in! |
Good job Marc!
If I don't get to call in - I have one question that maybe you can have them answer: I know that with copyright lawsuits, they have to sue you in the state where you live and operate....... is this also the case with Patent lawsuits? or does it make any difference where your server is vs where you actually are incorporated or where your office is? I think that key question makes a lot of difference to the Acacia ability to sue webmasters. |
Much thanks Marc!

Great idea Marc!
I'm looking forward to listening in as well. It should be very informative. :) Thanks in advance! |
Marc or Becky,
If you can squeeze it in, i'd like to know what the maximum possible penalty would be if patents were found valid and they were to sue a webmaster for infringing. Could the judge award the cost of the license? 100% of the sites revenues? 1000% of the sites revenues? I just want to know if the attourneys could give the worse case scenario for not paying a patent owners licensing fee. thanks Last edited by newb at Nov 25 2003, 02:48 AM |
